Best Ever A Level Results at Quinton House School

A-level pupils at Quinton House School in Upton, Northampton were celebrating today after pupils scored the best ever A-Level results in the school’s history, with an outstanding 97% pass rate and 36% of grades at A/A*.

Top performing student, Chen Ding gained an incredible five A*s and a scholarship to study Physics at Christ’s College, Cambridge.  Other top performers were Xi Yu with three A*s and two As and Oliver Goulden with three As.

Headteacher, Geraint Jones says, “The community at Quinton House School is delighted with these very impressive results. They are testament to our focus on the very best teaching, pastoral care and extra-curricular provision.  Our teachers and students have worked exceptionally hard and deserve the highest praise!”

Five A-levels

Two students took five A-levels this year

  • Chen Ding gained five A*s in Maths, Further Maths, Physics, Chinese and Chemistry.  He will study Physics at Christ’s College, Cambridge.
  • Xi Yu gained 3A*s in Maths, Further Maths and Business Studies and two As in Physics and Chinese.

 

Four A-levels

 

Four students took four A-levels and each of them achieved an impressive combination of A*, As and Bs.

 

  • Hong Jin, who took Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chinese, will study Business and Economics at Edinburgh University.
  • Shaun Lu, who took Maths, Further Maths, Chinese and ICT, will study Maths at Loughborough University.
  • William Wang, who took Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chinese, will study Maths at Edinburgh University.
  • Doris Wang, who took Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chinese, will study Maths and Statistics at Durham University.

Three A-levels

Other notable results include:

  • Oliver Goulden goes to Birmingham University to study Medicine after gaining three As in Biology, Chemistry and Maths.  These excellent results add to Oliver’s impressive GCSE grades of ten A*s.
